As another automobile insurer leaves Massachusetts, we’re down from 19 companies to 18. I have to wonder how successful deregulation of the industry will be if there’s so few companies in competition with each other on the onset. With high insurance premiums a near certainty, what company is going to want to try to entry the quagmire of a market in Massachusetts even if it’s deregulated?
