The Ongoing Pants Saga

Figuring I’d save myself some time, I called Express to see if any pants in my size came in. No.

While on the phone with the guy, he suggested I use their mail service. I come into the store, I select the size and type of pants I want and I pay $7 for them to mail them to me from somewhere they actually have them in stock in the U.S.

Another option offered was the buy now, tailor downstairs at discount option. Apparently, they have a deal with the tailor downstairs in the mall for a couple of dollars off if I need the pants shortened. These are pants that already cost $60 - $70 don’t forget. However, some colors are on sale this week for $29 and up. So, I might buy a pair in a lighter color and wait until next pay period for black and grey colors. I have to go to the mall and pick up Carl at 7 pm, so I’ll check it out then.

In other news, it’s not my expanding, the sizes are shrinking. I realized today I was wearing an older pair of pants purchased about 3 or 4 years ago at Express (yes, my pants generally last that long if I get decent ones) and they’re a size 7/8 short. They fit fine. Considering my size is now 12 short at the same company, this says something about women’s sizes and how manufacturers are trying to make us feel like we need to diet and fit in smaller sizes when our weight in actuality hasn’t changed.

Actually, the pants sizes are shrinking. I wear a size 6 normally and I fit into size 4 at Express.
