I’ve added something to the ‘Things my Children Will Never Do Even if They Call me a Horrible Mother’ list. Today while on 1A, I saw some kids (high school age?) begging for money in traffic. It’s something I’ve noticed more and more organizations doing over the years, but never on a road as busy as 1A before. 1A is the road you take to get to Logan airport. After the one light I saw these kids at, it’s a divided highway for about a mile. It’s busy and it was rush hour. Do these kids parents know what they’re doing? Do they know how dangerous it is? When I was a kid and we were begging for change for our band, we did it outside local grocery stores and other businesses and not in the street where there are cars. You know, cars that hit people? So, they can call me a horrible mother. They can have temper tantrums as kids are want to do, but they are not standing in traffic. Isn’t that an old insult? “Go stand in traffic!”
