I met my new manager today. All and all, he seems like a nice guy. We’re having a group meeting tomorrow which will hopefully address all concerns. Hopefully, he’s not a micro-manager as M is.

After work this evening, I went to pick up Carl and we ate dinner in the Borders Cafe. We brought sandwiches and just bought drinks there. Then we went off to Golftown to practice at the driving range. I did okay. I need to figure out my center of balance and stop thinking so much about my positioning. Carl wants to go to a pitch and putt (par 3) course, but I’m still not certain I’m ready for that. No lesson next week because of the holiday and the week after we’re going to have to change the lesson because I have a Hynes tour conflicting. I suggested he work an 8-5pm shift so we could go after he gets off work on another day. We have 3 lessons left, and when we’re done, we’ll get fitted for clubs.

I’ve also decided to get the Digital Rebel for a birthday gift for myself. I found a reasonable price for the body (I don’t need lenses since it shares the EF lens with my Canon Rebel 2000 35mm SLR body) at Butterfly Photo which came recommended from a couple of people who had used them before. Now, I just need to get enough money for my birthday to put a dent in the cost. The question becomes, do I finance it and then pay for it when the money comes so I have it for my trip to Europe in late August? I’m asking everyone who normally gives my physical gifts to please give my a Butterfly Photo gift certificate (or money :)) instead. Pleeeease? I’ve been drooling over this camera since last November and over the possibility of an affordable digital SLR for so much longer. This camera takes 35mm quality photos. Droooooooool.
